Job Details

This temporary position is required to complete data collection for a U.S. Department of Education funded study on the impact of theater performances and wraparound engagement on students. The Data Collector(s) in this position will be responsible for delivering informed consent forms to local schools, collecting consent forms, administering surveys (both pre- and post-) to students in schools, and data entry from student surveys.

Up to 30 hrs/week

September 2019 - November 2019

Duties and Responsibilities:

20% Distribution and collection of research consent forms to local schools

50% Data collection

30% Data entry and administrative responsibilities

Education/Experience

Bachelor's degree preferred with focus in the social sciences, education or music/arts. Graduate students are encouraged to apply. Experience working with schools and data collection a plus. Requires demonstrated interpersonal communication skills, including cultural competence and excellent spoken and written communication.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate in person and via electronic communication. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel in order to operate computer keyboard, office equipment, and other essential tasks. The employee is frequently required to sit. This position very infrequently, of ever, lifts, carries, or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment

The space in the Research and Evaluation office supports 6 employees working in an open-plan office. The noise level is consistent with most an office environment requiring computer based work, with the occasional phone call or meeting.

Data collection will take place across local schools in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia and the data collector will be responsible for their own transportation.

Travel required.
